Learning French is sometimes a necessity, especially when you move to a new country. Marielos, who is from Ecuador, has been living with her French husband in France since 2016.
Marielos first had to learn French in order to fit in and make it easier to communicate with people here. But to take things further and launch new projects, her language proficiency must be even higher. And it was with the desire to start a handmade jewelry business that she enrolled at the Alliance Française in Bordeaux and gave herself a year to learn French. Read her story:
It was in Ecuador that Marielos first learned about the Alliance Française. So, when she arrived in France, she knew she would be able to find French classes open to foreign nationals.
When she arrived, she already had an A2 certificate, and she set herself a goal of learning French and reaching a C1 level within a year!
She really enjoyed learning French at the Alliance Française in Bordeaux, and she especially liked the various scavenger hunts around the city of Bordeaux, which allowed her to learn French in a year in a fun way.
In addition, she loved the intercultural mix in the classes, which made her experience even more enriching.
Marielos explains that she simply wanted to learn French, and that her experience at the Alliance Française in Bordeaux turned out to be much more than that.
She has obviously improved her French, but she has also expanded her cultural knowledge of France and Bordeaux, particularly through the weekly cultural outings organized by the cultural department. She took part in cheese and wine tastings, baking classes, and more…
A year later, Marielos reached the C1 level and was able to start her own business! To celebrate this achievement, she did us the honor of exhibiting her creations at the Alliance Française in Bordeaux, allowing her to share her success with the school’s other students.
Today, Marielos is fully integrated into French society and has been able to fulfill her dream alongside us:
“I have wonderful memories of my year studying French with you, and I highly recommend the Alliance Française in Bordeaux to anyone who wants to improve their knowledge of French and France.”
