Our program of the month

Culture

Because learning French also means discovering French culture, each month we offer you the opportunity to take part in various cultural, tourist and sporting activities to discover Bordeaux and the local culture. Essential for a complete immersion !

  • All our activities are provided or accompanied by a French-speaking facilitator.
  • The activities are reserved for students following our French courses.
  • Registration required at the cultural service of the Alliance Française.

Bordeaux tour

Tuesday, August 25
3:00 – 5:00 pm.

Visit downtown Bordeaux with a volunteer guide, who will provide you with various explanations about the history and architecture of our city and its monuments.

Saunion chocolate factory

Thu. 27 & Fri. 28 of August
2:30 – 3:30 pm

Visit the artisanal Saunion chocolate factory, where you’ll discover its workshops and the secrets behind chocolate-making, before enjoying a tasting.

French Apéro

Tuesday, September 1st
6:00 – 8:00 pm

Meet other students from the Alliance Française, get to know each other and practise your French in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Petanque

Thursday, September 3
3:00 – 5:00 pm.

Test your skills by participating in a pétanque tournament, a friendly French sport that is particularly popular in France in spring and summer.

Excursion to the Bay of Arcachon

Saturday, September 5
9:00 am – 7:00 pm.

Climb to the top of the famous Dune du Pilat, then enjoy an oyster tasting at the port of Larros, before discovering the town and beach of Arcachon.

Aquitaine Museum

Tuesday, September 8
3:00 – 4:30 pm

Come to the Musée d’Aquitaine, where a guide will tell you more about the history of Bordeaux in the 18th century, particularly its role in the triangular trade.

Excursion to Saint-Emilion

Wednesday, September 9
1:30 – 7:30 pm.

Visit the medieval village of Saint-Émilion and its underground monuments, before discovering a wine château where you will be offered two glasses of wine.

Château Pape Clément

Tuesday, September 15
3:15pm – 6:00pm

Visit the Château Pape Clément estate in Pessac and enjoy a tasting of three glasses of wine, including one from Château Pape Clément wine.

Board games evening

Thursday, September 17
7:00 – 10:00 pm.

Come and play a variety of board games and challenge your fellow students during this fun-filled evening at the friendly board game bar, l’Atelier B.

CONCERT IN THE CITY

September 11th

The Bordeaux National Opera is back this year with its concert in the city.

Watch the live broadcast of the Bernstein concert on a large outdoor screen at eleven locations in Bordeaux.

CLIMAX FESTIVAL

September 11–13

The Climax Festival is making a comeback from September 11 to 13 at Espace Darwin.

Enjoy a weekend of discussions, lectures, and concerts centered on the themes of ecology and peace.

HERITAGE DAYS

September 19 and 20

Celebrate art and history during the European Heritage and Matrimony Days.

The 2026 edition highlights “Endangered Heritage,” with monuments in Bordeaux open to the public free of charge.
