International relations

The Alliance Française Bordeaux has numerous links with cities, companies or teaching institutions abroad. These friendships or professional relationships strengthen the dialogue between cultures. As part of this, we often host visits from other Alliances françaises representatives, schools worldwide or international artists, for specific cultural and linguistic projects or more regular collaborations.

Twin cities laureates - 2018

Every year, Bordeaux City Hall organises a competitive exam in its twin cities. We welcome laureates who come from Bristol (UK), Wuhan (China), Saint Petersburg (Russia), Ashdod (Israel), Fukuoka (Japan), Riga (Lettonie), Cracovie (Pologne) and Oran(Algérie). Our guests will spend between two weeks and one month in our beautiful city. They will have a delightful and fruitful time here as everything is included: 20 hours of French classes every week at the Alliance Française, accommodation in French host families and pocket money. This is a great action that highlights the value of twinning and the exchange between collaborative cities.

The Alliance française Bordeaux Aquitaine, in partnership with the cinema Lux in Cadillac, has collaborated with the ‘Alliance en résonance’ programme to bring Korea to Bordeaux. We had great pleasure in welcoming M. Alexandre Labruffe, director of the Alliance Française Busan and the film director M.Jeon Soo-il. On the 13th of October, the Cinema Lux in Cadillac screened his film ‘La petite fille de la terrre noire’. This provided the opportunity for real cultural exchanges in Cadillac.
