The TCF IRN (Test de Connaissance du Français Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité) is an official certification intended for individuals wishing to complete certain administrative procedures in France, such as applying for French citizenship (B2 level required) or a residence permit or multi-year residence card (B1 level required).

It assesses French language proficiency, from levels A1 to B2, in everyday and professional situations.

Task 2: Tell a story

You are describing an experience or a daily activity.

Task 3: Give your opinion

You express a personal opinion and explain your reasoning.

Example: Préférez-vous vivre en ville ou à la campagne ? Expliquez pourquoi.

4. Oral expression

This exam is conducted face-to-face with an examiner and consists of three exercises. No prior preparation is required.

Example

Task 1: Introduce yourself

The examiner will ask you questions about your personal or professional life.

Example: Comment vous appelez-vous ? Que faites-vous dans la vie ?

Task 2: Interact

You need to gather information in an everyday situation.

Example : Vous souhaitez réserver une chambre d’hôtel. Posez des questions sur les tarifs et les services.

Task 3: Expressing Your Opinion

You are developing your perspective on a given topic.

Example: Pensez-vous que les réseaux sociaux facilitent la communication ?
