Culture

Because learning French also means discovering French culture, each month we offer you the opportunity to take part in various cultural, tourist and sporting activities to discover Bordeaux and the local culture. Essential for a complete immersion !

  • All our activities are provided or accompanied by a French-speaking facilitator.
  • The activities are reserved for students following our French courses.
  • Registration required at the cultural service of the Alliance Française.

Cruise on the Garonne

Thursday, June 26th

Enjoy a breathtaking and original view of Bordeaux with commentary from an experienced guide, while sipping two glasses of Bordeaux wine.

Accompanied by a guide, students visit the historic center of Bordeaux, with historical and architectural explanations of the city.

Château Montesquieu

Discover the Château de La Brède, former home of Montesquieu, the famous Bordeaux author, before enjoying the château’s magnificent park.

Guinguette at Alriq

Make the most of the warm weather with an open-air concert at Alriq’s Guinguette, in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Pétanque Tournament

Come and compete against your fellow students in a pétanque tournament, a sport typical of the south of France. A good time guaranteed!

Visit of the Grand Theatre

Discover the interior of this famous Bordeaux landmark, with a guide who will explain the façade and the auditorium.

Bassin d’Arcachon

Saturday, July 12
9:00 am – 7:00 pm.

Climb to the top of the famous Dune du Pyla, before enjoying a typical oyster tasting and the town and beach of Arcachon.

Sailing initiation

Discover the Bordeaux lake and learn to sail! There’s no better way to cool off this sunny summer with your friends.

Saint-Émilion

Thursday, July 17

Visit the medieval village of Saint-Émilion and its underground monuments, before discovering a wine château where you’ll be offered two glasses of wine.

Bassin d’Arcachon

Basins of Light: Egypt of the Pharaohs

Monday, July 21st

Discover the exhibition on the Egypt of the Pharaohs and the Orientalist painters in Bordeaux’s former submarine base.
