Culture

Because learning French also means discovering French culture, each month we offer you the opportunity to take part in various cultural, tourist and sporting activities to discover Bordeaux and the local culture. Essential for a complete immersion !

  • All our activities are provided or accompanied by a French-speaking facilitator.
  • The activities are reserved for students following our French courses.
  • Registration required at the cultural service of the Alliance Française.
Upcoming activities

Guided tour of Bordeaux

Tuesday, September 16
3:00 – 5:00 pm.

Visit downtown Bordeaux accompanied by a volunteer guide, who will share with you explanations of the city’s history and architecture.

Petanque

Wednesday, September 17
3:00 – 5:00 pm.

Come and compete against your fellow students in a game of pétanque, a traditional French sport that is very popular in the south. A good time guaranteed!

Initiation to oenology

Thursday, September 18
4:00pm – 5:30pm

Initiate yourself to the art of wine tasting at Cousin & Compagnie, an independent wine cellar in Bordeaux, with three glasses of wine and a food board to share..

THE LIBERATION BALL

On August 30th

The Liberation Ball returns for a second edition on August 30, 2025, at Place Pey Berland.

On the program: rock and swing music, dancing, and immersion in the world of the 1940s and 1950s. A good time guaranteed!

CONCERT IN THE CITY

On September 12th

The Bordeaux National Opera returns this year with its concert in the city.

Let yourself be carried away by the works of Giuseppe Verdi and Gustav Mahler as you stroll through several squares in Bordeaux.

EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAY

On September 20th and 21st

Celebrate art and history during European Heritage Days.

The 2025 edition will celebrate “Architectural Heritage” with must-see monuments in Bordeaux open to all!
